A fantastic gift we received in the museum in 2009.
Dear veterans, family members and friends,
The "Achterhoeks Museum 1940-1945" keeps the memory of the Second World War alive. We do that by displaying original wartime artifacts en documents in our museum. Our spatiality is objects with personal stories. We are always in search of new items and we hope you are willing to help us. Any item or objects which were used during or taken souvenir from the second world war are of interest for our museum.
Our region was liberated by the First and Second Canadian Army and their allies. The region is Arnhem, Doetinchem, Zutphen, Apeldoorn, Deventer, Lochem, Laren Gld. , Winterswijk, Delden, Hengelo, Enschede , Almelo en Oldenzaal. This area has our special interest of course we would be happy with any kind of item. We appreciate every extra information about the object. Like where it was taken during the war, from which action it came or to which person it has belonged.
We are pleased with any kind of item from uniforms, equipment, medals, helmets, caps, badges, bayonets, daggers, documents, original pictures and Nazi souvenirs etc. etc.
Please help us to keep your memory alive.
