from the Daily Press: They risked their lives two generations ago on the beaches of Normandy. Now in their 80s and 90s, these old men want nothing more than to return – probably for the last time – for the 65th anniversary of the D-Day landings.
But our Normandy veterans are having to stand outside supermarkets in the West today, shaking tins to raise the money to be able to afford to go – while the present day politicians who are refusing to pay for them, get their trips to the same ceremonies paid by the taxpayers.
